Ich habe L.U.C.Y auf Kickstarter am 26.10.16 unterstützt und erhalte daher seit dem 27.10.16 die Updates:
Update Nr. 6 v. 27.10.16:
Dear backers.
That was a hard ride until here but also a very joyful one. We wanted to thank everybody for the support and we promise to do our best to have a product that is even better than expected.
The next two weeks we have dozens of investor talks and we hope that we can get even more power on board to satisfy you all.
Thanks.
The L.U.C.Y. team
Update Nr. 7 v. 10.12.16:
Hi all.
We are sorry that you feel disconnected. On our side we are buried under work and it is hard to communicate and show what is happening. First there are all those negotiations with partners and investors. For that reason we are not able to communicate everything that is happening. But as soon as we have all pieces in place we will be allowed to speak about it.
If we look at the product - which we are taking from a prototype stage to a production stage - it is easy to explain and it might help you understand why sharing news is hard.
The most important thing is to build a strong and solid base, which is updatable and secure. That takes around 80% of the development time and is the most crucial piece in this project. We are still working on that and also assembling more specialists to help us here. The problem is, that we have not a lot to show here, since this is all core backend work. Once that task is finished and we have our strong foundation to add the apps, there will be a lot to show and to share.
On the hardware side the planing is done and we are still on track to hit the production slot end of January/February. Since that part is completely outsourced will need to be patient with them. Before that time comes basically nothing happens here.
Attached you will find a short clip to get an idea how the face recognition works in the background.
Thanks
Update Nr. 8 v. 20.12.16
What happened
This week we will have finished the work on the first version of L.U.C.Y. The backend services as well as the client core functions will be ready for testing on our side. Face recognition, voice control with AVS, wifi connections, LAN abilities, and various smart home connections (Hue, weather, news, smart things, etc) are integrated in the core to test it.
What happens next
The servers as well as the clients software will be hardened by specialists now. This happens because we need to find out if everything keeps running perfectly as well as if there is any possible leak left that could compromise L.U.C.Y.. We want to make sure that nobody can hack L.U.C.Y. or use it for anything against its owner. That is a quite important step for us since we need to know what protocols we will have left to create the services.
Once that started we will look at the hardware side again, since we are waiting for more design improvements here.
So let us keep our fingers crossed that these test run well and enable us to continue like we have planned.
Thanks for your support.
Update Nr. 9. v. 24.12.16:
Dear backers.
Be sure to take some time out of your busy life to enjoy the magic of the holidays this season.
This is the time of year to take a step back from the stresses of life and enjoy the little things. We hope you enjoy them with loved ones. Thanks for your support.
Best wishes from the L.U.C.Y. team.
Update Nr. 10 v. 09.01.17:
Happy new year everybody. We are back from our winter break and hopefully you had a wonderful time, too.
We are now sorting things for the next sprint but we want to give you a heads up what will happen the next 10 days.
Security tests and server hardening
That went quite well. We are sure that absolutely no data is transferred if L.U.C.Y. hasn´t been given a command to listen. Also the video feed does not send nor store anything.
Anyways there are some little issues with some connections we need to shut down now on the software side. We are yet not sure which third party gadgets this will affect. But we are on it. And we expect to see a lot of apps being tested and presented soon.
Hardware production
The founders will be in Asia next week to finish the hardware assembly and kick of the production. We have a production slot in early February and we will update you on that progress as soon as we have confirmed details.
The last thing for now is to the backers that are unhappy with us:
We are sorry to hear that. But we think that this does not give you the right to pick on us or judge us. Since we do not expect the "relationship" with those who are unhappy will be very productive, especially if we look at L.U.C.Y. and the testing and updates that will happen with our first users, we would like to refund those who wish to be refunded. For that we will provide a form within the next ten days to gather your details. Hopefully that makes both of us happy.
Thanks for your support.
Update Nr. 11 v. 17.01.17:
We have looked into it and we would like to offer the refund to the unhappy ones amongst us.
So if you think that you do not want a L.U.C.Y. device anymore you can send us an email to refund@welcome-lucy.com. The email should contain the following data so we can match you in our database: Full Name, Kickstarter Name, Kickstarter Email Address and your PayPal Email.
The refund will be sent to your PayPal account. That is by far the cheapest and fastest way for all of us. We also do not have the possibility to transfer money back to your credit cards. So PayPal it is. If you do not have a PayPal account you can create one here: https://www.paypal.com.
The repayment will occur within the next days if we can match you in our backer list. If there are issues here you will be contacted by Marta who does the accounting. Please keep in mind that there are associated costs (Kickstarter, PayPal, Currency conversion rates etc.) which we will take from your pledge since we do not want the other backers to have any disadvantage here by taking money out of the pot. We guess you all understand.
Thanks everyone.
Team L.U.C.Y.
